Welcome to FarmTack.com. We are a working farm located in Western Pennsylvania about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh. We have both standard and mini donkeys, horses, ponies, pygmy goats and cattle. For years, we have been trying to find good-fitting halters for our donkeys. After having little success in either finding donkey halters or getting horse halters and making adjustments on them to make them fit, we decided to do something about it. Being located only about 15 miles west of a small Amish Community located in the town of Smicksburg, we decided to contact some local Amish men that specialize in making animal tack to see if they could make what we needed. They were able to make halters that fit our donkeys exactly the way they should. Knowing that there are other people with donkeys who are also probably having a difficult time getting halters that fit their animals properly, we decided to form a business agreement with these Amish craftsmen and start this web-based business. Presently, these local Amish men are handcrafting each and every halter, headstall, lead and rein that we offer. And it is due to their painstaking desire for excellence that you will receive top quality products from us.
