These headstalls are Amish made and handcrafted of top-quality leather. They have a 3/4" wide double-ply and double-stitched browband and cheek strap. The throat latch strap is single-ply and 1/2" in width. The leather in these headstalls is hand cut a piece at a time and the edges are finished and painted by hand for a professional look and a tough coat is then applied for additional protection. A Chicago Screw is used to fasten the browband to the cheek strap and throat latch straps and a Conway Buckle is used to fasten the bit to the headstall. An adjustment on both sides of the headstall allow for the proper fit of the bit. Matching 5/8" wide by 6' long single-ply split reins with a Conway Buckle are included. The hardware in these headstalls are made of stainless steel for looks and durability, however you could use solid brass as an option. These headstalls can both be hand tooled on the browband and cheek straps or they can be left plain with no tooling. If preferred a Rossett or Leather Lace Tie can be used in place of the Chicago Screw and a Water Loop with a Leather Tie can be used in place of the Conway Buckle. These headstalls DO NOT include a bit or curb/chin strap. They must be purchased separately.
